Well Here We Go Again, Dagg Gum It!

Posted in stand tall 8 hours ago

Dagg Gum It! Beats all I've ever seen. I was just getting my confidence up for going back to some kind of a job. So my wife asks me to paint the hallway. I figure I can because it's something I used to do for a living and I need to see just how useful my arm will be in action. Up until then I am doing the shoulder exercises daily and beginning to feel a real improvement. Long story short is I painted the ceiling two coats and the walls two coats and now I am trimming out the top edges along the ceiling. Instead of using a ladder, which is very cumbersome inside a house, I used a large wooden dining table chair. Been doing this all my life, never had a fall. But not this time. I was almost finished, lacked about 6 feet of trim to do and as I stepped up onto the seat of the chair and proceeded to lift my body up with one leg, the chair tilted back toward me. This is where everything went into slow motion. My feet went out from under me and I leveled out perfectly. I landed on the edge of this wooden chair hitting it with my chest, breaking off the left front chair leg and cross bracing with my right shoulder. Dagg Gum IT! Man did this hurt! I couldn't breathe or get up out of the floor. My wife had gone to the store and I was all by myself. I knew something bad had happened because I was in so much pain. We had moved the phone to the hall and so I reached around to find it. I called my mother’s house, no answer; I called my son's cell phone and got the answer service. I called my mothers' home again and let a blood-curdling cry for help. I mean I thought I would choke to death right there on the floor. After a while my wife returned home and I was so out of control I began screaming for help. Short conclusion is I ended up going to the emergency room at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, they did a CT scan and found that I had broken my sternum. So now I'm laid up for from between 4-6 weeks waiting for this to heal. Every time I cough or sneeze I live a fraction of the nightmare all over again. Dagg Gum IT! You know it says in the Bible book of James that God does not bring problems or adversity onto us. But he does allow these things to befall use. James also said that He, God would not allow more to come upon us than we can endure. I've mentioned to Jehovah God that I appreciate that he thinks I am such a strong person and all, but I can't take it anymore. I really need a blessing for staying faithful and sticking to him like glue through all the past 30 years. Do you think I'm asking for too much?

 in response to KenWAnderson...

Thanks Ken for your concern. I heard you on the offer. To be honest I just do not have the mental inclination to be in any kind of MLM or Network Marketing activity. I've tried on several levels to pull this off but no success. An example is the Holy Tea Club. Started by a very likable couple out of Jackson Tn, whom I know and a person in my local congregation that has been active in more MLM than you can stir with a stick. I have recruited about 30 people in my downline and they have people and so forth. But in May of 06 I made a whopping $2.49. My site is here if you want to look at it. Maybe you can run with it. It's a great product, I'm drinking it now. Really works. I'm convincfed the tea has help shut down the Hep C virus in me. My last viral load check said I was still in remission.

BUt Ken, while I've been laid up with this shoulder situation, I've investigated and become very passionate about the idea of turning my car into a hybrid by burning hydrogen from water along with the gasoline. I think this is something that all people should consider doing as it saves money and protects our environment. Maybe you could have a look at this too at my affiliate site. it's at this link. Thanks Ken.

 in response to Rosie327...

Thank you Rosie. I appreciate those words of encouragement. Actually, I am putting together all the information from this ordeal to help other people that have gone through siminlar shoulder repair surgery only to come out less than fully recoverd. I've learn from meeting other rotator cuff patients that they give up on the physical therapy too soon and then complain about not having full use of the arm/shoulder again. So I thought I would post all the surgery photos and videos of me doing the exercices to give future accident victims an idea of just how much effort is required to overcome such and situation. I would tell how I got in this mess including the slip up at Vanderbilt, the differernce between the protocol of the two sergeons and the outcome. What do you think? Of course there is always an motive behind every good deed, right! On the blog would be google ads and such to hopefully help me offset my negative cash flow situation. Thanks Rosie.

An Update to My Medical Problem

Posted in stand tall on May 23, 2008

Just want to provide an update to my situation. I applied for and received financial aid from Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville TN. I was operated on Sept 17, 2007 and began physical therapy Sept. 19. ON the first day of therapy I experienced a popping in the right shoulder and severe pain. I told the therapyst to get the sergeon. He tried but the sergeons response was the "he was not conerned". They iced me down and I went home. Over the next 3 months of therapy at Vanderbilt Medical I went through the prescribed activities but was not making any improvement in connection with being able to lift my arm up in front of mee and up out to the side. Not without cheating or straining. So on December 19 2007 I was told that I was good to go and released from Dr. John Kuhns care. However, I knew that I did not have full use of my right arm yet and under the TENNCARE program I went to my prescribed physician and asked for additional physical therapy. I was granted this request early in Feburary 2008. After 7 visits it was determined through the "new" physical therapyst in Lebanon TN and with the help of my prescribed physicial and after getting an MRI that I still had a torn rotator cuff. One of the same muscles that Dr. John Kuhn had worked on back in Sept 2007. It seems he should had been concerned on Sept 19 2007 because on March 28 2008 I had to get another operation on my right shoulder rotator cuff. So today is May 23 2008 and I am now 10 months + fooling with this injury. We did get food stamps with the TENNCARE help provision which helps a lot. My wife is still working at the wharehouse for $8.00 and hour and I haven't made a dime since October 2006. But I am not dismayed, as I am teaching myself a little more ecah day about how to make a living o the Internet and I am sure that very soon I get the hang of it.  I posted a few things on Ebay, none sold. I'll keep learning. I have about 30 people in my downline with the holy Tea Club business, but have not yet broke even. I just gotta learn to keep eating this elephant until he is all gone.

I was tired of working for other people anyway!

I've been in my work field for 16 years and can not keep a decent job. In that time I've had 9 jobs, two went bankrupt, two used corporate restructuring to eliminate personnel and the others just went sour. So I want to work for myself from here on out. I applied for and received funding from the Tennessee Careers Center for 6 months of training in the IT field to get a webmaster certification. The Internet is here to stay and I want to be a part of it.  I was laid off this last time in October 2006 and the unemployment ran out in April 2007.  I was turned down for a loan today for lack of collateral and a high credit score, so I need to find a way to fund the next 6 months of living. My wife works for $8.00 per hour at a warehouse so we have the groceries covered. If someone out there would work with me on some sort of bartering scale or a personal loan at a decent % rate, I would not let them down. Maybe we could chat about it?  Thanks.

Update: On July 10th ,07, I was helping a friend do some odd jobs around his house and I fell down a flight of stairs. I ended up with severed tendons in two places in the rotator cup of my right shoulder.  I still have no job and of course, no insurance. Christians do not take fellow Chritians to court and His home owners insurance says I'll have to sue them to get any medical help to repair my shoulder. Two lawyers say I have no case.  I;e applied fot TENNCARE  here in Tennessee and have applied for disability from SS. If accepted these cold take up to 4 months. If anyone knows the legal asspects of this type of thing or if you are friend with an orthopedic surgeon in the Nashville TN area, maybe you could put in a word for help in this matter. Thanks.

I'm a white male with some Cherokee in the mix.  I love art and things of beauty. Father of four sons, one grandboy and one new-born grandgirl.  Been married to the same woman for 27 years and don’t see a need for a change anytime soon.  I think the Bible is the best book ever written when it comes to strengthening our own personalities and making us better people, Even with that kind of power at our disposal the world we have created for ourselves is pretty disappointing. Love is like money in that there is enough to go around and everyone would prosper if they spent more. It's just too many people can't see the bigger picture when it comes to knowing how to really treat your neighbor as you would want God to treat you. I like camping and being with friends that like to stir up a conversation just for the sake of being controversial, even when they know everybody else knows better. Exercise is not a big deal for me, I think the most important workout is the one we get from carrying our brain around. That is if we use it properly. I'm the only person I know that can eat chocolate and loose weight.  Just because we have freewill doesn’t give us the right to some of the things that we claim is our right. Like smoking, how can you love your neighbor and pollute his air with toxins? I like to speak in front of a crowd, not shy and kind of enjoy the spotlight.
